STANCANELLI Elena G. F.
I am an economist and work as an academic. I am a CNRS Researcher at University of Cergy Pontoise; an associate researcher at OFCE, Sciences-Po, Paris; and have an office at University Paris 1, Centre d'Economie de la Sorbonne, where I hope to be moving soon.
I did a Master in Economics at Warwick University, a PhD in economics at the European University in Florence; and a HdR (a French higher degree) at Paris 1 Sorbonne in 2007.
I have worked as an academic in the UK, the Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, and France. I also worked for five years at the OECD as an economist; and for three years doing macroeconomic forecasting at the OFCE of Sciences Po, Paris; before deciding to come back to academics in 2005. I must say I have always liked to move on to something else.

I started off with papers on unemployment duration and the savings of the unemployed. And went on with studies of labour market policy evaluation. These days many of my papers are about how individuals use their time. Within this area of research, issues I have been researching recently address questions like "Who hires a maid and how does this change the amount of unpaid house work spouses produce "; "Does the taxation system affect market and house work hours of husband and wife?"; "How does own and partner retirement from the labour market change individual allocation of time"; "Does the time individuals are prepared to invest on commuting to work, affect their earnings and labour supply?"
Research interests: Policy Evaluation; Time Use; Applied Microeconomics; Gender
